• One of the little-known aspects of collecting currency is the variety of scarce and obscure notes that escape from the Bureau of Printing and are issued by the Federal Reserve. One of the more scarce examples are “Repeater” notes. Both are extremely popular among collectors and never stay around long when they turn up.
• A REPEATER note features serial numbers that repeat. IE. 12341234
• A good number of collectors spend time looking at each serial number of each bill that passes through their hands. Unfortunately the chances of finding any fancy serial numbered note “in change” is akin to being struck by lightning. Even though these Federal Reserve $1 notes aren’t error notes, only 1 in 2.3 million of all circulating dollar bills are like them.
